Important Messages from Clemens Food Group →

In our endeavors to be ethical stewards, sustainability is a key principle in our business functions.

We are committed to building a strong foundation for the future by being mindful of our land, atmosphere, water, resource consumption, and people.

Our commitment to environmental sustainability is a key part of our culture of continuous improvement. Even when we see incredible results thanks to our environmental efforts, we never stop striving for improvement. That attitude of persistent innovation, paired with our focus on sustainability, has helped make us a leader in the industry. And it has produced some remarkable results.

Recent results of our sustainable practices:

  • We recycle 3,500 - 4,000 gallons of oil a year at our Hartfield facility.
  • We recycle over 100 million gallons of water annually.
  • We recycle 405 tons of paper, corrugated materials, batteries, and metals every year.
  • We save 36,000 gallons of diesel fuel each year by using auxiliary power units (APU) and cab heaters on company tractors.
  • We have increased our reuse water to an impressive 98%.
  • We have reduced fuel usage at our Hatfield plant by 520,000 gallons a year, thanks to a state-of-the-art hot water heating system.
  • We have reduced propane use at our farms by 10-15% thanks to upgraded insulation.
  • We have reduced emissions emitted into the environment by over 300%.

Even though water is the most abundant substance on Earth’s surface, it is important that we are doing our part to use less water more wisely.1

Energy and Emissions

For years, we have been industry leaders in using cleaner and alternative sources of energy, working to reduce both oil dependence and air contaminants.

Across our entire PV Transport fleet of 120 tractors, we use the latest technology to reduce fuel consumption, increase efficiency, and lower our impact on the environment.
