At the Clemens Food Group, we’re committed to sustainability. Stewardship is one of our core values—an ideal upon which our company was built.

We’re committed to building a strong foundation for the future by caring for our land, water, air, and people.

Our commitment to environmental sustainability is a key part of our culture of continuous improvement. Even when we see incredible results thanks to our environmental efforts, we never stop striving for better. That attitude of persistent innovation, paired with our focus on sustainability, has helped make us a leader in the industry. And it has produced some remarkable results.

Recent results of our sustainable practices:

  • We recycle over 100 million gallons of water annually.
  • We recycle 405 tons of paper, corrugated materials, batteries, and metals every year—in fact, our Hatfield location is 100% landfill free.
  • We save 33,000 gallons of diesel fuel each year by using auxiliary power units (APU) and cab heaters on company tractors.
  • We’ve increased our reuse water to an impressive 98%.
  • We’ve reduced fuel usage at our Hatfield plant by 520,000 gallons a year, thanks to a state-of-the-art hot water heating system.
  • We’ve reduced propane use at our farms by 10-15% thanks to upgraded insulation.
  • We’ve reduced emissions emitted into the environment by over 300%.

The Earth’s surface is made up of 71% water. And we’re doing our part to use that water wisely.

Energy and Emissions

For years, we’ve been industry leaders in using cleaner and alternative sources of energy, working to reduce both oil dependence and air contaminants.

Recycling is at the heart of our environmental efforts. Every single day, we work to reduce the amount of waste we produce, and recycling is one of the very best ways to achieve that goal.

Across our entire PV Transport fleet of 110 tractors, we’ve been using the latest technology innovations to reduce fuel consumption, increase efficiency, and lower our impact on the environment.
